GYSGT SCOTT B. SELKEY 0848 USMC
GySgt Scott B Selkey was
born January 15th 1978 in St. Petersburg, FL. He graduated St.
Petersburg High School in June 1996. December 1996 he enlisted in the
Marine Corps and attended Recruit Training at MCRD Parris Island, SC.
After Marine Combat Training he attended
Marine Corps Field Artillery Fire Direction Controlman Course, Fort Sill,
OK. Upon graduation in June 1997, he was assigned to HQ Battery 1st
Bn 10th Marines where he served as a Fire Direction Controlman,
Training NCO, Color Sergeant, and Assistant Battalion Operations Chief.
In July 2001 GySgt Selkey was assigned to Artillery Demonstration Unit, Quantico, VA where he served as
Assistant Operations Chief.
In December 2003 GySgt Selkey was transferred to Fort
Sill,
OK where he would complete
Marine Artillery Operations Chief Course and reported to the AFATDS New
equipment Training Team where he deployed in support of 2nd Marine
Expeditionary Force during Operation Iraqi Freedom IV. In May 2006 he was
assigned to the Marine Battery, Fort Sill where he served as Platoon
Sergeant until January 2007. February
2007 GySgt Selkey Reported to Weapons Co 1st Battalion 8th
Marines where he deployed to OIF 06-08.2.
He currently serves as the 81mm Mortar Platoon Sergeant.

Selkey’s personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation
Medal with gold star, and the Navy and Marine Corps achievement Medal with Gold
Star.
